“Pakistan and China reaffirm their mutual support on key issues.”

ISLAMABAD, Oct 14: On Monday, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their support for each other on all core issues and committed to developing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) phase-II to the highest standards.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang led the discussions during delegation-level talks at the Prime Minister’s House.

During the meeting, the two leaders explored various aspects of their bilateral relations and addressed regional and global issues of mutual interest, according to a press release from the PM Office Media Wing.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction that the Pakistan-China Strategic Cooperative Partnership, grounded in mutual trust and shared principles, continues to strengthen over time.

They also emphasized the importance of completing ongoing projects in areas such as industry, agricultural modernization, information technology, and science and technology for their mutual benefit and the socio-economic development of Pakistan.

The leaders noted with satisfaction that cooperation under CPEC has entered a new phase.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured that Pakistan remains unwavering in its commitment to ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals and projects within its borders.

The two sides agreed to maintain high-level contacts and enhance cooperation across all areas of their bilateral relationship.

In their discussions, they focused on relocating Chinese industry to Pakistan and strategizing ways to boost Chinese investment in the country.
